Evening Desert Safari Dubai
An evening desert safari in Dubai runs about 5 to 6 hours: afternoon pickup, 4×4 dune bashing on the Lahbab red dunes, a sunset photo stop, then a desert camp with live shows and an open BBQ dinner. Prices start at AED 150 per adult and AED 99 per child. Compare the options below and book the one that fits your evening.

What happens on an evening desert safari
Your driver collects you from your hotel or residence in the afternoon — usually between 2:45 and 4:30 PM depending on the season — and heads out to the Lahbab dunes at Al Madam. The drive across the red sand is the part most people remember: roughly 30 to 60 minutes of dune bashing, with a stop at the highest dune for sunset photography and sandboarding while the light turns.
At the camp the pace changes completely. There's a camel ride, Arabic coffee and dates, henna artists, shisha in the lounge, and a run of live performances — Tanoura, belly dance and a fire show — before the BBQ buffet opens. Grilled meats, vegetarian and Jain dishes, salads, Arabic bread and dessert, with soft drinks, tea and water included. Drop-off is back at your pickup point by around 9:00 PM.
Choosing between the evening packages
The standard evening safari with BBQ dinner from AED 115 covers everything above and is what most people book. Add a 30-minute quad bike session if you want the adrenaline as well. The Premium package upgrades you to reserved lounge seating with food served to your table instead of queuing at the buffet — and includes air-conditioned rooms at the camp from May to September, which is the main reason UAE residents book it in summer. Sundowner Safari is the shorter option built around sunset photography. And if anyone in your group would rather skip the drive, the dinner-only safari gives you the camp and the buffet with no dune bashing at all.
Booking from inside the UAE
Most evening safaris are booked by people already here — residents planning a weekend with visiting family, and tourists booking the same day from their hotel. Pickup takes roughly 30 to 45 minutes from Dubai Marina or Downtown and about an hour from Sharjah or Ajman, so a same-day booking before 1:00 PM is normally fine. Groups of six or more get a reduced per-person rate, and we run extra departures over Eid, UAE National Day and the winter school holidays — those weeks fill early.
Who shouldn't do the dune bashing
Pregnant guests and anyone with back, neck or heart conditions should skip the dune-bashing drive — the camp, dinner and shows are all still fine. Ask for the soft-drive option or book the dinner-only safari instead. Infants under 3 are welcome at the camp but aren't seated for the dune drive. Tell us when you book and we'll adjust the vehicle or the itinerary rather than turning you away.
