Evening Desert Safari Dubai with BBQ Dinner Dubai
The evening desert safari is the tour most first-time visitors picture when they think of Dubai: a 4×4 ride over the tall Lahbab red dunes, a slow camel walk at golden hour, and a BBQ dinner under the stars at a Bedouin-style camp. Dune Drifters Tourism runs this trip every evening in its own Land Cruisers and Nissan Patrols with licensed drivers, so you get the full route — not a cut-down version on the flat Al Aweer sand that budget operators use. The tour lasts about 5 to 6 hours, and hotel pickup and drop-off across Dubai are included.
What your evening includes:
Your driver collects you from your hotel or address in the afternoon and heads out to the Lahbab dunes near Al Madam. The drive is the main thrill — roughly 30 to 60 minutes of dune bashing over the soft red sand, with a stop at the highest dune for sunset photography and sandboarding. At the camp you can take a camel ride, add quad biking or a dune buggy, & settle in for Arabic coffee, dates and shisha. Henna artists, a fire show, and live Tanoura and belly-dance performances run through the evening, followed by an open BBQ buffet with grilled meats plus vegetarian and Jain food options.
Timings, Pickup and Price:
Pickup is usually between 2:45 and 4:30 PM depending on the season, with drop-off by about 9:00 PM. Free pickup covers Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman; Al Maha Resort, Bab Al Shams, Jebel Ali, Investment City, Discovery Gardens and the Port Rashid cruise terminal carry a small extra fee.
This tour is good for couples, families and groups who wants dune bashing, a camel ride and dinner in one evening. If anyone prefers a gentler ride, ask for soft-drive dune bashing, or choose the dinner-only desert safari with no bashing at all. For a fully private vehicle, see the private desert safari or the family desert safari. Booking takes a minute by website or WhatsApp on +971 55 962 7008, with instant confirmation and a driver call before pickup.

The driver’s ID should matche the company you booked with. This package includes the full dune-bashing route for 30 mins, with unlimited sandboarding, Sunset photography and an open BBQ buffet — no partial-safari shortcuts.
Evening Desert Safari Dubai — FAQs
What’s included in the evening desert safari with BBQ dinner?
Free hotel pickup and drop-off, 4×4 dune bashing on the Lahbab red dunes, a sunset photo stop, sandboarding, a camel ride, and a desert camp with henna, shisha, Arabic coffee, live Tanoura and belly-dance shows, a fire show, and an open BBQ buffet with vegetarian and Jain options.
How much does the evening desert safari in Dubai cost?
It starts at AED 110 per adult and AED 99 per child, with infants free. Prices rise during peak winter weeks and the Christmas–New Year period, so check the live rate before booking.
How long is the tour and what time is pickup?
The safari runs about 5 to 6 hours. Pickup is usually between 2:45 and 4:30 PM depending on the season, with drop-off back at your hotel by around 9:00 PM.
Where does the dune bashing take place?
On the tall Lahbab red dunes near Al Madam, off the Dubai–Hatta road — the soft, high red sand reputable operators use. Cheaper trips often run on the flat Al Aweer desert, which gives a much tamer ride.
Is hotel pickup included, and from where?
Yes. Free pickup and drop-off cover Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman. Al Maha Resort, Bab Al Shams, Jebel Ali, Investment City, Discovery Gardens and the Port Rashid cruise terminal carry a small extra pickup fee.
Is the evening safari safe for children and anyone who gets motion sickness?
Yes. Children are welcome, and you can ask for soft-drive dune bashing for a gentler ride. If you’d rather skip the bashing entirely, book the dinner-only option and still enjoy the camp and BBQ.
Is the BBQ dinner suitable for vegetarians or a Jain diet?
Yes. The buffet has grilled meats alongside vegetarian and Jain dishes, salads, Arabic bread and dessert, plus soft drinks, tea, coffee and water. Tell us any dietary needs when you book.
What should I wear and bring?
Wear light, casual clothes and closed shoes like trainers for walking on sand. Bring sunglasses and a cap; in winter add a warm layer for the evening. Avoid sandals, heels and flip-flops.
Can I add quad biking or a dune buggy?
Yes. ATV quad bikes and dune buggies are available at the first stop as a paid add-on, from single-seater to double-seater, usually for a 30–60 minute session. Add it when you book or ask your driver.
Is there an option without dune bashing?
Yes. If you or anyone in your group would rather skip the drive, book the dinner-only desert safari and still enjoy the camp, camel ride and BBQ dinner.
How do I book, and how fast is confirmation?
Book on the website or by WhatsApp on +971 55 962 7008. Confirmation is instant, and your driver calls or messages you before pickup on the day of the tour.
What makes this different from a cheap desert safari?
You get the full route on the real Lahbab red dunes, agency-owned 4x4s with uniformed drivers, a proper sunset photo stop and sandboarding, and an open BBQ buffet — not a shared, overcrowded camp or a short bumpy ride on flat desert.
If you’re in Dubai, pickup usually takes 30–45 minutes from Marina or Downtown and about an hour from Sharjah or Ajman, so a same-day booking before 1:00 PM is normally fine. Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll confirm a slot immediately. Residents booking for a group of 6 or more get a reduced per-person rate, and we run extra departures during Eid, UAE National Day (2 December) and the winter school holidays — those weeks fill early, so book ahead.
Who should not join the dune bashing?
- Pregnant women — the camp and dinner are fine, but the dune-bashing drive is not recommended.
- Guests with back, neck or heart conditions — ask for the soft-drive option or the dinner-only safari.
- Infants under 3 — The best option is private SUV, requesting a baby seat and Infants are welcomed at the campsite
- Quad bikes: riders must be 6+ to drive alone; younger children ride as passengers with an adult.
Tell us about any of these when you book and we’ll adjust the vehicle, the drive or the itinerary rather than turning you away.
